Description

Wander the streets of El Carmen with an artist who used this neighborhood as a canvas for his grafitti and street art. You will meet your host, David at Plaza de Portal Nou at 9am. He will take you through the artistic heart of the old quarter, tell you the stories behind this booming art scene finishing at his workshop where you will get your hands dirty! Get creative with some sprays and take home an unforgettable memory!

Learn about the culture and history around the Street Art in Valencia through this exclusive tour with a well known street artist. David has a personal relationship with many artists who choose Valencia streets as their canvas. You're in for a treat! After you explore the neighborhood, David will put your creativity to the test while making a big graffiti of your program's name that will then be printed onto a t-shirt.

SUMMER: We choose to operate this tour in the morning to beat the heat but please remember to hydrate as it can get quite hot during summer months.
WINTER: Wear something warm and comfy shoes for the walking part of this experience

You might end this experience a bit earlier or a bit later depending on how much time you want/can spend designing/playing with the sprays!

Host Introduction

David de Limón is an illustrator, graphic designer and street artist graduated in Fine Arts and Photography. He's been painting the streets since 1998. David was born in El Carmen neighborhood and was lucky to spend his adolescence when there was more freedom of expression. David de Limon's colorful ninjas can be seen rubbing shoulders with the créme de la créme of Valencian graffiti artists, some of whom collaborate and share workshop space with him.

This tour is very much a beginners guide to appreciating street art...

This tour is very much a beginners guide to appreciating street art, so if you are familiar, you would likely find most of the pieces yourself walking around, but it hear some stories about it. Getting to try spray paint your own tags at the end was a really fun social activity and the shirt you make with the professional street artist at the end is a pretty great souvenir worth most of the event fee in itself.

David ROCKS! Loved learning about the traditions and "ethics" around street art.

Very cool street art / graffiti tour!

David does a stellar job of guiding u thru the streets of El Carmen and pointing out the differences in street art, graffiti, etc.

Then u will cruise n2 the studio to grab a can first hand! U get to learn the painting technic (yourself) ultimately putting ur RY name on the hanging wall. U scoot out the door w/a T-shirt representing what you and your group created.

Really enjoyed it!

No better way to learn about graffiti vs. street art vs. mural art than from a career, local artist whose chosen medium is a spray can. There was amazing art literally around every corner, with a deeper story that David brought to light. I now see so much in this city that I would have glanced over, and I have a greater appreciation for the work and the messages. Bonus that we got some lessons on spray painting (actually harder than it looks!) and shared in a really cool group project! David was amazing to talk with, and the workshop owner was also really nice. Highly recommend!
