Description
Are you ready for a full day in Buenos Aires al sur?
Nothing like BA from a bike! The city is very diverse and each neighborhood has its own identity so you need to go beyond Palermo to really understand what means to be a porteño (someone from Buenos Aires City). While we ride on the newest avenues and the oldest streets of the city, you'll learn about the most popular porteño art expressions and after visiting all these inspiring neighborhoods, we'll end the day in a fileteado workshop where you will be able to demonstrate your creativity and have a concrete memory of this day, We'll make our own work of art!
The day starts in Puerto Madero, the modern area of the city, a neighborhood that honors women in its streets, parks and monuments and the place. We'll imagine here how Buenos Aires was before the city was founded by visiting one of the largest ecological reserves in the world in a city.
We'll ride then to "La república de la Boca" to see the colorful and traditional houses where tango was born, and where the mecca of fútbol is: La Bombonera. La Boca, with its eccentric urban art is definitely an open-air museum.
Barracas, our next stop, is a residential neighborhood full of popular forms of expression that are encouraged by the city government or by anonymous people. We'll also see there the biggest mural painted by an Argentine artist.
To end this morning, we'll go to San Telmo, we'll leave our bikes, and after some free time for lunch we'll join a Fileteado workshop.
What is Fileteado porteño? It is a type of artistic drawing and lettering, with stylish lines and flowered climbing plants. We used it to decorate signs, taxis, buses, restaurantes: You'll see it everywhere in BA! While we enjoy a class and, the fileteador will give us all the materials we need to create our own souvenir of the day.
You can do both activities, the riding and fileteado workshop, or just join one of them!
Who Is This Experience Good For
