Description
Biking around Kyoto is one of the best ways to explore this city with its ancient shrines and traditional teahouses.We will explore the northern part of Kyoto, an area not inundated with tourists.Starting out in the “old village” area of Demachiyanagi and a great shopping street, we will explore the area around the famous Kamo river and visit amazing temples and shrines.Eat a VERY local lunch in interesting company and also spend some time in a zen garden. Easy riding, fun exploring and a few delicious discoveries, plus, history, sightseeing and getting out in nature!

Anyone who loves to get outside and off the beaten path.
The ride will be moderate to easy and there will be some lovely stops along the way. - Of course you must be able to ride a bike.

Start: 9:00 Meeting place in Osaka (in front of Takashimaya Department Store)
9:30 leave Osaka (on the premium car)
10:30 arrive Demachiyanagi
10:45 start bike tour
11:00 Shimogamo
11:30 leave Shimogamo-cycle alongside the river to Shodenji zen garden
12:00 Shodenji zen garden
12:30 leave
12:45 Arrive secret surprise LUNCH spot
13:30 cycle through Kamigamo shrine and neighborhood and down kamo river
14.30 Original mitarashi dango and drink in kyoto gosho
15:00 Heianjingu garden
16:00 cycle back up river to Demachiyanagi
16:30 Return keihan line to Osaka
17:30 Arrive Yodoyabashi
End: 18:00 return to meeting point

Please bring your own water bottle, any spending money for things you would like to take home. (though tipping is not common in restaurants a small gift or gratuity for guides is common and appreciated). Insurance also is not included.
