Description

Olympos has one of the finest beaches in Antalya and is home to an ancient city dating back to the 3rd century BC. The beach is one of the most important nesting areas for the sea turtles (Caretta carettas). The walking trail to the famous 3 km long beach passes through the ancient site. Olympos is part of the Beydağları National Park and at the same time a protected archeological site.

Over the past 15 years, Olympos has become a popular destination. It is known as backpackers' paradise. Due to the protection status of the area, concrete buildings are not allowed and simple bungalows and wooden houses are the only options to accommodate people. Relaxing under the shade of orange trees and leaving the city hustle and bustle behind... This is what Olympos is about.

At night, a short car ride and an easy hike take you to Chimera, where small natural fires burn in the rocks. (OPTIONAL)

Kekova Island and surrounding beautiful bays offer one of the finest swimming experiences in Medditerranean. You may even find yourself swimming with a sea turtle. You will discover Kaleköy which is only accessible from the sea.

St. Nicholas of Myra a.k.a. Santa Claus lived in Myra as a bishop and was buried at St. Nicholas Church in Demre. Ancient city of Myra and St. Nicholas Museum are in the itenary of this trip.

Perfect Weekend Trip

This trip was amazing! Olympus is a hidden gem. Byram's place was in the perfect location, a short walk to the beach. They also know Ozz and treated us like family, not to mention the food was delicious. The boat ride was one of my favorite days, as you stop and swim in at least 3 different bays and the water is perfect and a beautiful turquoise blue. 11/10 trip and would encourage anyone doing a month in Istanbul to book this!

Perfect escape from the city!

Olympos was exactly what I needed to decompress from the city. We stayed at Bayrams and it was so lovely. The bungalows all have their own AC, which was amazing! The breakfast and dinners were delicious, the social spaces were comfy, and there were a ton of cute kittens. The walk to the beach was pretty close too and the water was gorgeous! The boat ride was great and we got to see sea turtles. One note, I brought water shoes and they were lifesavers because the beaches are pebbles instead of sand. You have to go to the ice cream place Oz recommends, it tastes so fresh! I honestly can’t recommend this trip enough. 💓
