Description
In this trip, you will venture into mixed-crop coffee gardens with local farmers and witness how the organic coffee making process unfolds. You will also get to see the behind the scenes issues of staying afloat in the coffee business.

Kiadan Pelaga is surrounded by forest including native bamboo, rice fields, rivers and gorges. Cinnamon, vanilla, clove and cocoa plantation will be your good finding of the trip. Find out which plants are used for what, and community strategies for conserving their local resources.

Meet Our Local Host
In this trip, you will be guided by a group of local people who run ecotourism for their village. In which all the profits and contributions will stay and be used for the development of the village. You will get a chance to get to know the people and the village directly from the people who live in  Kiadan Pelaga.

Itinerary
- Pick up at accommodation

- Travel to Kiadan Pelaga Village
- Upon arrival, you will get welcomed by local delicacies over freshly brewed Pelaga coffee while interacting to the village elders about their daily life and the history of coffee growing in the area at a Bale Subak (village meeting hall)
- A trek around Kiadan Village Pelaga while enjoying the scenery and learn how the coffee beans are cultivated and picked. You will also get a chance to learn about other crops that are grown in Pelaga; the rare “dry” rice and other wild and cultivated crops that you will enjoy during lunch

- Lunch with Balinese dishes that are directly sourced from the village crops. With of course another Pelaga coffee.
- Stroll around the village to experience daily life in the village and interact with the locals. Where you will also see the original house of the founder of the village that is still used today.
- A short tour of the coffee production house to learn about the coffee production cycle from coffee plant to cup.
- Back to accommodation

- Booking Deadline: 5 days before event
- Weather Dependent: Yes - In case of rains, the forest path might be a bit slippery and the event might need to be rescheduled or rearranged depending on the rain
- Difficulty Level: Medium - Trekking might be challenging - depending on level of fitness
- Special Clothing Required: Yes - active gear, wear comfortable shoes.
- Special Dietary Restrictions: No, please update the City Team with your dietary restriction
- Extra Cash: Bring only cash for extra purchases of coffee or souvenirs for take away gift. Tipping for your host/driver is not necessary.
- Transportation: Included
- Trip Duration: Total trip will take about 9 hours depending on the traffic. The trip is going to take about 2 hours one way (could be more depending on the traffic). Make sure you have already had breakfast beforehand. Or pack light bites with you. Packed water and snacks are highly encouraged for the journey.
- Additional Information: Sudden schedule changes may occur following the Balinese religious events in the local village.
