Description
At the foothills of the Aberdare ranges, in a tea farm in Muranga county, stands a small apiary which was started by a guy who had a dream about a bee. So strong was the dream that he made it a mission to create a world where bees can thrive so that we humans can also thrive. In this trip, you will drive down to Muranga, which is situated around 2 hours from Nairobi. Once you get to Muranga, you will begin the tour with breakfast at the apiary, situated in a tea farm. At the apiary, you will get to learn more about the organization’s work with the bees and their efforts in giving back to the community through supporting a community library that allows children to access the library at no cost. After the session at the apiary, you will take a hike around the scenic community, and will come across the locals going about their day. This trek will lead you back to the apiary, where you will be prepared by locals. After lunch, you will take a ten minute ride to a beautiful waterfall, and this opens up to a dam, where you will have an opportunity to ride a boat. After that, you will begin your journey back to Nairobi and stop by the road to take in a majestic view of the Aberdare forest.
