Meet Our Local Hosts
Mike and Jacky have been hosting Remote Year Safari trips for several years and enjoy sharing their love and knowledge of the African bush and are focused on the authenticity of the African Safari experience they host. The community owned and managed safari camp will blow you away with their welcoming hospitality and astounding knowledge of the African bush. Your extremely knowledgeable main Safari Guide, Mpho Malopane, has been guiding in the Manyeleti and greater Kruger areas for his entire adult life. He is a wonderful personality with amazing tales about his daring experiences in the African Bush. He will show you the smallest of creatures, the tracks and signs that nature gives him and the incredible beasts that make African Safari what it is. Mpho has recently, largely through the great patronage that RY has afforded this Safari camp and this region, been able to start his own guiding business and partnering with your Safari hosts, enhancing every bush experience for each RY guest

fREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
I had SUCH a blast on safari. Jacky was the perfect host - made us feel so welcome right from the start. Campsites were comfortable, food was excellent, staff so friendly. Our local safari guide was incredibly knowledgeable and helped us see and learn about lions, elephants, cheetahs, rhinos, and so much more. Absolute bucket list and must do trip!
The price tag might seem steep but it is SO WORTH IT! This is such an authentic experience and all the staff is incredible. Jacky is fantastic and the safari guide, Mpho, is amazing. Totally worth every penny.
One thing to note is that the cost of the flight was quite high ($500 USD). Not sure if it is this way every month - I was here in Jan which is summertime so maybe different months are cheaper. But that was an expense we were not expecting so buyer beware!
BOOK THIS TRIP IMMEDIATELY!!!! This was the most amazing weekend, I only have incredible things to say about it. Jacky was stellar from start to finish. She truly curates the best experience. The whole weekend was so authentic, we got to meet locals, our guide Mpho was perfection and the staff at the campsite was so welcoming and uplifting. The food was delicious, the safari experience out of this world, and I would do this again in a heartbeat. Absolutely worth the money. I will remember this weekend forever!
A safari had been a bucket list item for me and this trip truly didn't disappoint. First of all, Jacky is incredible and you'll want to be friends with her. Meeting her and getting to know her was amazing. She curated a 11/10 experience for us, adjusting our schedule as the weather (rain) kept changing. Honestly, I'm so glad she did because the lunch picnic we got to have mid-game drive in the park at an abandoned camp was super unique and memorable. While the camp isn't glamorous, the food was excellent and it was just enough. I loved that we were supporting locals vs. big corporations, which all of the other camps are owned/operated by. Thank you for this once in a lifetime experience! Would highly recommend to anyone.
Had a great time on the Safari with the best host, Jacky! The trip is expensive, but I felt like it was worth it at the end, since it was helping the local population. One of the coolest experiences I've ever done!
