What was is like to grow up in Kalk Bay during Apartheid? Follow the footsteps of Latifah, a local to this small fishing village. She will tell her tales of a pure and simple upbringing with a fisherman as a father, and hair-dresser as a mom. Learn a bit of history of the communities and various groups that lived in the area, as well as get a feel and taste of the local food
Kalk Bay remained a mixed community of people from diverse backgrounds even during the Apartheid years. Even while apartheid was a law and prevalent , it did not affect their community due to the respect for each other despite colour creed. You will get a chance to explore the area before we head to an authentic local fish lunch experience.
