One of the awesome aspects of flamenco is how all of the performers (dancers, singers, guitar) are on stage, even if It isn’t “their” song. In the very least, they are contributing to the beat with clapping and stomping. This troupe was amazing individually, but a few of us commented afterwards how amazing they were to each other too. Their energy, support, and appreciation for what their friends were doing was awesome and infectious. This raised the performance beyond just a solid example of traditional dance at a restaurant with a stage, to a truly high quality experience. And the food was good too!
This one is pricey but if you've never seen flamenco, I recommend doing this, especially with family/friends in town. The food is pretty good and there's lots of choices. The staff was friendly and accommodating as well. The show was unbelievable especially for someone who had no preconceived notions about flamenco. My seat was right at the stage and I could feel the wind from the dresses and bodies flying around the stage. Super fun Valencian experience!
This whole experience was completely worth it! The performance was so powerful and intense, nothing like I've seen before. They really captivated the audience. I loved that after the first 10 minutes they don't allows pictures to be taken so you truly can get into the performance. The dancers and musicians were incredibly talented. The food was also delicious. It came with bread/dips, cheese and cured meats, salad, choice of entree, choice of dessert, and 2 drinks (beer/wine/sangria/soft drinks). I definitely will consider going more than once!
I've seen a few Flamingo dance shows in North America, but there is nothing like the real thing :). Loved the singers' voices, and the guitar player's ability to create a beautiful rhythm to dance to. But those women were something else! Their passion and the way they moved their feet, and the serious look on their faces were truly mesmerizing. And the Paella, though different to the traditional Paellas, was very delicious. Definitely recommend both dinner and show.
