Description

This is a Positive Impact experience helping local communities.

In this experience you will learn some basics dance steps of Flamenco (45 min) with a professional Flamenco dancer who supports the Project "A Quelar, Cabanyal!".

A QUELAR, CABANYAL! is a project of social and solidarity development through of a program of continuous training in flamenco dance, choreography, cajon box drum, and guitar to children in danger of social exclusion. Thanks to this project, 44 children and young people, mainly of the roma community in the Cabanyal district of Valencia, will be instructed in flamenco dance, choreography, cajon box drum, and guitar, thus giving continuity to the training they have been doing since February 2018.
The main objective of the project was to promote the development of the roma village of the Cabanyal neighborhood, within the framework of respect for its culture, involving the rest of the neighborhood and the whole city. Rediscover, for each other, flamenco not as a typism, but as a language full of nuances and riches to practice and know. Protect and value this cultural heritage, this heritage of humanity, to which these children, by tradition, are so close. A QUELAR, CABANYAL! taught us that these little ones need success experiences, from the recognition of their talent and their incredible rhythmic skills, from the practice of what is known and most loved, from where they can work better basic skills such as selfconfidence, responsibility and discipline. It also refer of the need to establish their skills with the knowledge and know-how necessary for the proper performance of professional Flamenco art, thus giving them the opportunity to become professional artistically. Your help is key so that the project is up to the vital force and the illusions of our young talents.
