Head to Puerto Escondido this fall.
Puerto Escondido, a few hours south of Oaxaca, is a beach town that is on the rise. The secret of its charm is starting to get out, so come and visit now while it still has its unrefined charm and all the best local flavors!

What is the Citizen House like?

You’ll be living in a boutique hotel nestled within the security of rustic stone walls, with delightfully cozy common areas, like a rooftop deck with a panoramic view of the ocean or a lush green terrace that surrounds a two-tiered pool. The four-story hotel has five suites that all feature in-suite bathrooms, as well as three studio rooms that share a bathroom.

Think of the hotel as a beachside sanctuary, with an intimate vibe that has been built and cultivated by the friendly and welcoming staff who will be there throughout the entirety of the Puerto Citizen House. Check out the property photos to see where you’ll be living!

Where is the Citizen House located in Puerto Escondido?

The Citizen House is in the heart of La Punta, a marvellously mellow beach-side neighborhood where locals and expats live side-by-side, and where the idea of community is cherished. You’ll be within a five minute walk to the beach, as well as the main intersection of La Punta. There are small markets, including fresh fruit and vegetable stands, as well as restaurants, beach bars and stores all throughout La Punta.

Check out Playa Punta Zicatela on Google Maps to get an idea of the location of the neighborhood.

How to do I get to Puerto Escondido?

The quickest and easiest way to Puerto Escondido is by flight—it’s a one-hour direct flight from Mexico City. Look for VivaAerobus, Interjet, AeroMar and Volaris. At the airport, there are taxis or colectivo vans waiting upon your arrival, which will take you on the 15-20 minute drive to La Punta.

You can take also take a bus or regional van from Oaxaca City, but it is quite a windy drive through the mountains!
