- Help local farming communities
- Visit Ladles of Love
- Eat a local lunch
Today you will spend the day experiencing what it means to B Somebody with Love. This is an authentic and purely Positive Impact tour that has been specially designed for RY by a local favorite, Bukho. She is excited to take you on a journey of what her organisation ""B Somebody with Love"" does to create an impact and change in South Africa, tackling issues such as youth unemployment, homelessness and hunger.
We spend some time with the local farming community where you'll get your hands dirty and help the older farmers with their daily gardening activities. While at the farms, a delicious traditional South African lunch will be prepared by Bukho herself with the fresh produce from the farmers. We then will travel to ""Ladles of Love"" for the second half of the tour, where we will volunteer our time and help with their daily activities. These range from making sandwiches for the homeless to packaging food parcels that are distributed weekly to soup kitchens and homeless shelters around Cape Town.

Frequently Asked Questions
Bukho is really cool and charismatic, making it a fun and rewarding experience.
We planted red cabbage, broccoli, and lettuce at a community garden. Then helped out at Ladles of Love and had chakalaka with pap afterwards.
Firstly, Bukho is THE BOMB! Such high energy, such a great soul, just an awesome person to be around, who is genuinely wanting to give back to the community. Such a great way to help others! Gardening, cleaning, cooking, with great company and an awesome, local meal in the middle too, what's not to love! And honestly, great way to bond with other remote year peeps who also love to give back!
This was such a fun experience! First of all, Bukho is an amazing host and has the best energy. We went to Ladles of Love and weighed and packed up oatmeal, then ate lunch prepared by Bukho of pap, chakalaka and sausage and went to a community garden to help a local farmer plant seedlings. It was a short experience, but I felt like I got to bond with my fellow RY friends more here than any other experience because we were working together to help the community and had a little friendly competition :) I would highly recommend!
