Subtle Scariness- super interesting.

I didn't know what to expect when joining in this adventure but I am so happy I went. The reality is, I had no reason to go other than curiosity. The uncertainty of it being at night along with respecting the dead had me at odds, despite my reservations, the guide led us with stories of the past involving cultural history, war, economy and social status. The artistry of the mausoleums and being able to intersect these historical events as to why the cemetery is what it has become today was what made this experience so interesting. You may spot a stray kitty that follows you around for some of your tour but that just adds to the aura of the cemetery itself. Get to know Lima in a different way.

I love cemeteries, and this was the number one reason I booked the trip to Lima. This cemetery tour was a blast. It wasn't scary at all, but the graves were beautiful, and the history was incredible. As you spend time in Lima, you're going to hear more and more about the Pacific War, and there are scores of memorials for it (no spoilers). It was also very interesting to hear the paranormal stories of the cemetery and to see the graves of actual Peruvian witches. It was amazing. Hands down the best thing I did in the entire month in Lima. You do not want to miss this -- and it isn't scary either if you were worried about that.
