Antigua Guatemala as the name says it the ancient city of Guatemala, stayed stuck in time after a series of earthquakes to hit the city in the 1600’s. Antigua is a UNESCO heritage site for humanity balancing colonial architecture with modern art, restaurants and bars. The city unravels itself behind closed doors haciendas and búcaros. You can find unique places and ancient colonial art by just walking through the cobble stone roads and popping out in different parks. A mix of present day Guatemalan culture mixed with the colonial past and nestling international and local cuisine, art adventure and textiles. Amongst 3 incredible volcanoes and picturesque corners, the market place will be your ally for unraveling this unique city.
Each month on a Remote Year program, you have the option to opt into Core Experiences. A Core Experience is a weekend or weekday experience curated by the City Team to help immerse you in the local culture or community while bonding with your fellow Remotes and Citizens. One weekday and one weekend option is included in the program.
