Cooking Demo

This was more of a cooking demo than a cooking class.

The organization is doing good work with the women in the community and the location included a beautiful herb garden. It took a while for the class to start. We had the option to make either a meat (lamb or chicken) or a vegetable tagine. For the meat dish, we chopped an onion and added the spices and meat. Then put the tagine on a coal fire and fanned the flames. There was no recipe card included... but there wasn't much to the recipe. This was followed by a traditional tea ceremony and a chance to ask questions about the organization and the work they do to train/educate local women who have suffered poverty and/or abuse. We had lunch, but had to rush through as folks needed to get back to work.

It was a nice day, but you won't come away with any new skills.
