Join this cooking & culture class to learn not only how to make traditional Balinese dishes but also the day to day culture of Balinese people from our Host Sang De, a local Balinese native to Desa Payangan. You will also get to tour the local market to learn about the ingredients and spices used in Balinese cooking and experience the traditional family life in a Balinese house compound. Interact with the whole local Balinese family during the class and learn how to make offerings before a big feast. After the class, enjoy the Balinese dishes you made for lunch.

Meet Our Local Host
Sang Made Merta or more familiarly known as Sang De is a local Balinese native to Desa Payangan. He and his family are very passionate about introducing Balinese culture through food so he opens his house to everyone who is willing to learn.

Additional Information: Pack extra water and snacks are highly encouraged for the journey.This cooking class is set in the morning to catch the opening hour of the local traditional market that you will be visiting for the market tour. Balinese food is quite a long process, the lunch will only be ready to serve after 1PM - it is recommended to have had breakfast or bringing light bites with you.
