Step back in time with a visit to the vintage village of Tenganan. Led by a local guide with expert knowledge of the village’s ancient history and culture, this experience offers a unique opportunity to learn about the traditions and customs of this fascinating community. See palm leaf writing and traditional cotton spinning, and witness the art of weaving Tenganan’s Geringsing double ikat weave, which uses natural dyes made from materials gathered in the woods. Finish the day with a delicious Balinese lunch in a traditional house.

Meet Our Local Host
Nyoman Suwita, also known as Bli Domplong, is a member of the Tenganan Pegringsingan customary village. As a skilled weaver and producer of high-quality handicrafts, he has dedicated his life to preserving the traditions and culture of his village. With no formal education in tourism, Domplong is a self-taught expert on the history and customs of Tenganan. He and other young people from the village established a village ecotourism network to offer visitors an authentic and informative experience of their unique way of life.
