Highlights

- A walk through the alleys of the historic centre and a cooking class amidst stories of freedom and integration in the stories of the Libera Terra and Cotti in Fragranza projects.

Description
A fascinating walk through the Kalsa district that has seen men such as
Falcone and Borsellino and their contribution in the fight against the Mafia. Walking through the alleys of the Kalsa you will hear the story of a Palermo that is the scene of tragic events, but with the desire to reconstruct, starting from those events, a different tale of social redemption.
A walk will take us to the heart of Ballarò, visiting the garden of the former convent Casa San Francesco, a green treasure chest in Palermo where you will meet the staff of Cotti in Fragranza, a civil enterprise that reintegrates fragile people thanks to various social projects.
You will hear the story of Cotti in Fragranza directly from those who every day put passion and commitment to change things, so between a chat and some ingredients, you will participate in the cooking class, where you will prepare some typical Palermo recipes.

Itinerary

Meet at 9 a.m. in piazza Kalsa for the walk that will take us to piazza Magione, among
stories, murals and tales of the neighbourhood.
We will walk through the historic centre to Ballarò, one of Palermo's historic markets, to Al Fresco Giardino and Bistrot, where we will be welcomed by Lucia from Cotti in Fragranza, a cooperative reality
of social reintegration that was created inside the Malaspina juvenile prison in Palermo.
Through a cooking class we will learn to cook and taste typical Sicilian dishes and
we will listen to stories of redemption.

Meet our local host
Agnese, a passionate tour guide in love with her city, will take us on a journey of discovery. She will accompany us to discover the stories of Palermo. Lucia, and all the staff of Cotti in Fragranza, will lead us
