Experience the vibrant neighbourhood of Bo-Kaap on a walking tour with a local guide who will share the area's history, culture, religion, and development. You'll get to see the colourful houses, visit the oldest Mosque and spice shop in Cape Town. After the tour, you'll participate in a Cape Malay cooking demonstration with a well-known ex-local school principal, Shaamiela. Learn how to make traditional dishes such as chicken curry, bean curry, and roti, and enjoy a delicious meal with starters and dessert.

Meet Our Local Host
Shireen, a born and raised local in Bo-Kaap, will be your guide for the walking tour. She has a wealth of knowledge about the community and will give you an in-depth look into its history, culture, and development. Shaamiela, a well-known and respected ex-local school principal, will be your host for the cooking class. She was selected by the local community to host Prince Harry and Meghan Markle during their visit to Cape Town in 2019.
