You'll also gain insights into the local community, the neighborhood's history, its rich culture, and the presence of indigenous gardens.

The tour takes approximately 90 minutes, winding through the industrial and business section of Salt River before leading into the residential area, where most of the public art is situated.

To wrap up this enriching journey, you will have the chance to share a meal at the home of a local resident. This intimate culinary experience offers a taste of authentic South African hospitality, bringing your exploration of Salt River's culture full circle.

Meet Our Local Host

Nadja Agherdine is a local resident, qualified street art tour guide and the vice chairperson for the Salt River Heritage Society. Our host is passionate about sharing the cultural and artistic treasures of Salt River with you.

Your lunch stop will be with Naz, a Salt River resident who runs her own catering business and is a pillar with her involvement in charity work in the community.

11:00 AM: Meet at the Old Biscuit Mill start time
Start walking tour of Woodstock and Salt River
Meet local artists and learn about their work
12:30 PM End tour at Naz's home for a South African snack and lunch
